• Dr. Ellen Friedman

  
  

  Dr.Friedman has been co-owner of NVH since 1993. She has a special interest in geriatric feline practice, although she enjoys caring for her canine patients as well. She also enjoys pocket pet medicine and surgery. She has been married to Dr. Dasaro since 1979 and shares her house with three Labs, as well as mulitiple orange cats and a gray parrot.

• Dr.Victor Dasaro

  
  

  Dr. Dasaro is the medical director of NVH. With nearly twenty years of experience in veterinary medicine, he remains dedicated to the “old style” school of veterinary care. He enjoys interacting with pet owners and their companions. Dr. Dasaro has a special interest in ultrasound, avian, and exotic medicine as well as surgery.

• Dr. Melissa Flanagan

  
  

  Dr. Melissa Flanagan may look familiar! She worked at NVH for six years before she headed off to a veterinary school. She is happy to return to her veterinary roots. Dr. Flanagan has her own little zoo! Four dogs, one parrot, one gerbiles, and an aquatic turtle. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and hiking with her dogs and her husband Johnny.

• Gayle

  
  

  Gayle is our head coordinator and has worked at Newburgh Veterinary Hospital since 1999. She really enjoys hand-on time with patients, especially during physical therapy sessions in the Ferno in-water treadmill. Gayle received her Bachelor's degree from SUNY Albany. When not at work, Gayle spends her time with her family and her two Great Danes, Doberman and Chihuahua. She also likes karate, Harley Davidsons and writing.

• Melissa

  
  

  Melissa has been part of the NVH team since May 2006 and is our primary outpatient nurse. She is usually the person who ushers you and your pet into an exam room. Her love of animals makes this an ideal job for her. Melissa shares her life with her fiance, Jimmy, their German Shepherd Diesel and their three cats, Joy, Angus and Lou - E. Other than working, Melissa also enjoys hiking, camping and snow-mobiling.

  Mike has been part of the NVH team since August 2003 when he was hired as a kennel assistant. Since then, he has earned B.B.A. in Veterinary Technology Management from SUNY Delhi and now is a Manager at NVH. In the future he would like to pursue a Master’s degree in business. He has four cats.

• Jenn

  
  

  Jennifer is our head nurse and has been a part of our team since 2004. Her special interests around the hospital include dental cleanings and working with exotics. Jennifer and her husband Mike, have a daughter Emma and recently welcomed another baby girl, Fiona. Besides sharing her life with her husband and children, Jen also has a menagerie of pets;that includes one dogs and two cats (many of which were adopted from NVH). In her “spare” time, Jennifer is usually found cooking or baking, camping, fishing or reading true crime novels.

  Dora is our bookkeeper and has been with us since 2006. She was lucky enough to get a job combining her bookkeeping skills and her love of animals. She shares her home with her husband and two daughters, as well as her 3-year-old black lab, Isa, whom she fosters for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. When Dora isn't working, she enjoys swimming, photography, and watching her children play soccer and basketball.

  Kristin has been part of the NVH team since November 2007. She has a B.S. from Mercy College in Behavioral Sciences and has ten years of experience in the veterinary field. She is very dedicated to providing supportive care for our wildlife patients. She shares her life with her husband, Chris, their baby girl Sophia, two dogs, and four cats.

  Danielle has been a part of our team since March 2006. She graduated from SUNY Ulster in May 08 and received her veterinary technician license in August 2008. Besides working as a veterinary technician, she also does canine and feline rehabilitation therapy. She has two cats; Charlie and Maximus.

  Fumi came from Japan and has been with us since May 2005. She recently earned B.B.A. in Veterinary Technology Management from SUNY Delhi. Her love for NVH and all its wonderful patients is the reason why she decided to stay after graduating and not return to Japan. She has three cats; Lily, Pinky and Rilie.

  Bonnie has been a part of our team since 2000. She mostly works as an outpatient nurse and also does physical therapy. Her hobbies are to spend her time with dog training, kayaking, walking and traveling. She has two dogs; Holly and Bonnie, two cats; Knonk and Eisma. She also has six children and three grandchildren.

  Stephanie has been a part of the NVH team since 2007. She is currently attending Marist College, majoring in Biology. Her future plans entail continuing on to Vet. school and working in a mixed animal practice. In her spare time, she likes to play guitar and piano. She has two cats.

  Crystal is the newest addition to our NVH team of technicians. She graduated from Suny Delhi in December 2009 and plans to go on to Vet. School within the next two years. In her spare time she likes to hang out with her dog Tucker and turtle Todd.

  Fran has been a part of our team since 2003. Besides working at NVH, she owns an art business and is pursuing a degree in business and marketing. She also wrote and illistrated a childrens book which was published in 2008. She has four cats, a chinchilla, and two horses.

  Jayme has been here since January 2009 and works at our Newburgh and New Paltz locations. She is currently attending college to become a licensed technician and recently received her wildlife rehabilitation license. She shares her life with her husband, Joshua, 3 dogs, 2cats, and a few exotics.

• Resort Manager: Brian

  
  

  Brian has been part of our team since March 2008 . Besides managing the resort, he likes to take photos, read about the civil war, hike and collect antiques. In the future, he plans to go back to school to become a veterinary technician. He has three dogs and two cats.

  Emily grew up in the Hudson Valley and has been a part of the NVH team since September 2009. She graduated from the University of Buffalo in 2007 with a B.A. in Physical Anthropology. She shares her life with a very large cat, a senior chinchilla and an itsy bitsy dog.

  Brittany has been part of the NVH team since June 2009. She is currently studying to become a licensed Veterinary technician. When she isn't at work she likes to spend time with her two ferrets and two dogs, callie and samson.
